PUBLIC RECORD is the 5th release from DIY maverick and John Lennon Songwriting Contest Winner Rachael Sage. The follow-up to 2002's critically acclaimed Illusion's Carnival , PUBLIC RECORD was coproduced by Sage and Andy Zulla. On this album, Sage enlisted NYC musicians including Stephanie Winters (Dar Williams), Dean Sharp (Moby), and Doug Yowell (Duncan Sheik) to flesh out her trademark "folk-noir" sound.

The album features some of Sage’s most enduring and popular songs: “Bravedancing”, “Too Many Women” (which was included in the soundtrack of the remake of the movie “Fame”), and “Frost”, which has been embraced by the lyrical dance community and was featured on the Lifetime reality television series “Dance Moms”.
